This performance from Don Sutherland during this trilogy was so epic!, he seemed to just act like himself but twist the wonderful personality he had throughout his life for the role of Snow to the point it was so easy to despise him in every scene he stole, just incredible (R.I.P Donald Sutherland ❤❤❤🫡🫡🫡

What is masterful actor was Donald Sutherland. Snow exudes cunning and menace and vulnerability all at the same time. Rest in Peace Donald Sutherland.

This was a very dramatic scene for this movie, I'm not going to lie this scene was weird, but I understood this scene in the film perfectly.

She became a crowd favorite mostly because of Cenna. Imagine if he treated her and Peeta as regular "clients" who'd die in the games anyway.

Rest in peace Donald Sutherland. So many great roles over the years, "Ordinary People", "The Eye of the Needle", "Casanova", "Klute" and of course his impeccable turn in this quadrilogy - he helps to elevate the film above typical YA shlock levels. What an impressive legacy he leaves, including his incredibly talented son.

President Snow may be evil but he makes it clear he is not pointlessly evil. He only does things if he stands to benefit from them. And killing a bunch of Capitol kids does not benefit him at all. Of course this makes Coin worse than Snow because she wants to indulge in her sadism and lust for power rather than what truly benefits her revolution.

the moment he puts his hands around her neck to kiss her back always gets me. I repeat that part about a hundred time every time I watch it. This is probably the most beautifully made on-screen kiss in cinema history

This goes to show how INCREDIBLE the actors are. They are LIVING the characters. The boy language and facial expressions are to a T, that i can tell a huge in the difference dynamic Peta and Katnis has in their second hunger games. The first one, affection was about survival. But Catching fire!?! Their affection is no longer for the cameras. (Which is ironic because its a movie. THEY DID SO GOOD!)

I always thought his dialogue here was amazing. Gave me chills. He knew this truth would turn Katniss against Coin and divide the rebellion. That's why he wanted to talk to her and smirked at the end. I do believe he was sorry for Prim's death, she always reminded me of his grand daughter. I think their resemblance was intentional. He is deceitful, but he holds true to his word. Even in Songbirds and snakes, he only killed people for very specific reasons. Betraying your "bestfriend" is cold as ice but it was a "him or me mentality". He made such a charismatic villian.

Thank you Donald Sutherland for playing as president coriolanus snow and you will always be remembered. Rest in peace

Beautiful scene, but I kind of wish they stuck more to the book. Where he tried to stop her to finish the conversation and then gave up trying to stop her. Essentially it became a make out session in their under clothes where they were wrapped around each other because there was nothing to stop them other than themselves. Katniss even says this was an entirely new kind of hunger and could not get enough. Katniss was having a sexual awakening on that beach. If lightning hadn’t struck the tree Panem was probably in for a real show.

It's actually "a historic," but whatever.

In the scene Katniss kissed peta not for show but because she actually realized she does have feelings for him

i was just reading about him on wiki and returned to this scene. Donald had so many memorable roles over the years but this one always was my favourtie. I'm very devastated by his passing but i'm glad i can watch him till my time comes.

Donald Sutherland was perfect casting. As a veteran actor he did a masterful job, but was relatively unknown to young audiences, making his performance that much more chilling and believable. RIP.

RIP to a great actor, a great Canadian, a great Quebecer, and simply a great man 🕯️
